Description
Kamunyaka Factory is operated by the Irani Farmers Cooperative Society (F.C.S.), and has an active membership of about 500 men and 100 women smallholder farmers. The average farm is about 1/4 of an acre up to 4 acres, and farmers typically grow other products as well as coffee. Farmers deliver their cherry to the washing station where it is sorted and depulped by 7 permanent staff members and 25 seasonal employees. The coffee is depulped, fermented, washed, and soaked on-site before being dried on tables.
The cup has a rich sweetness and big tangy fruit acidity with a syrup-like heavy mouthfeel with cherry, raisin, and brown sugar flavors.
